About me

I’m a writer living in my beautiful adopted city of Melbourne, Australia. I was born and raised in Cornwall, UK – the main setting for my first novel, The Purple Bike (2019).

The idea for the book dates back to a school assignment in the mid-1980s to “interview an adult with an interesting job”. My subject was a young police officer whose retelling of his very first case inspired me to write The Purple Bike.

In my business life, I’ve written millions of words for website content, media releases, annual reports and more. I hold a Master of Communications specialising in Professional Writing and work as a content strategist in between periods of creative writing.

Think of me as a first-class cat cuddler and gardener and a second-class cook.

Reviews of The Purple Bike

The perfect holiday read. A light, interesting and thoughtful story which kept me engaged and wanting to go back to it night after night. Highly recommended.
